The season is upon us! Starting this Saturday, September 25th our “Behind the Screams” special event kicks things off. The next week (October 1st-2nd), the Awaken regular season opens for 2021. Plenty of changes, plenty of new scares, plenty of fun to experience this year. Like you, we love the Halloween season!

Behind The Screams, Saturday September 25th!
We’re super excited to bring back our “Behind the Screams” event this year! It’s been 5 years since our last. Our “Behind the Screams” night is truly a one-of-a-kind happening. We hope you can make it!
Guests will be allowed access to rooms and close-ups of props that make Awaken the scariest haunt in Michigan. In addition, the designers and creative influencers behind Awaken will be available to answer your questions. At the end of the tour (if you think you can handle it), we turn the lights back off and let you go through portions of it in the dark.
Again, this is a free event for Awaken Ambassadors and all are invited. No tickets are necessary for Ambassadors…just show up. For non-Ambassadors, space will be limited to just 50 paid guests for general admission, so we’re keeping the attendance small for everyone’s enjoyment. If you’re an Ambassador and you’ve got non-Ambassador friends who you’d like to join you, no problem. They’ll need to purchase a general admission ticket or become an ambassador, but either way, they will be allowed to attend during the Ambassador early time-slot with an Ambassador.

Michael Myers Live and In-Person @ Awaken!
Don’t forget! The original Michael Myers, actor Tony Moran, is visiting Awaken this fall for 3 nights only!
Tony will be appearing @ Awaken Friday, October 15th, Saturday October 16th and Sunday, October 17th. Bring your Michael Myers masks and other Halloween memorabilia for Tony to sign*, take some fun photos, and venture through Awaken for an incredible Halloween experience.
You must purchase a ticket to Awaken to meet Tony. Our Awaken Ambassadors will be given special exclusive early accessto the meet and greet with Tony from 6-7pm while our doors will open to the general public at 7pm. Check out our Awaken Ambassador program to see how you can meet Tony early.
Some of you may remember that Tony visited Awaken for two nights back in 2017. Those were some fun and crazy days, and we expect more of the same this time around. So, if you love Awaken and love the Halloween movie franchise, you won’t want to miss this exciting weekend!
Horror Movie/Series Happenings
Mad God, September 23rd
Let’s see, a movie with no dialogue, no named characters and no plot…how could this possibly be good. But, we’re intrigued, really intrigued! From long time, acclaimed Hollywood creature designer Phil Tippett comes Mad God, a mostly stop-motion with blended live action experimental film that just sounds completely different than what we’re used to seeing.
An unnamed hero dressed in heavy protective gear clutches a briefcase and prepares for a mission of violence. Entering a world of horrors, he journeys through one nightmare to the next, every inch filled with gruesome monsters, disgusting imagery and other extreme awfulness. What this movie lacks in cohesiveness, it makes up with repulsiveness. Obviously, this movie is not for the squeemish. Read more.
Midnight Mass, September 24th
Writer/director Mike Flanagan (Haunting of Hill House, Doctor Sleep) takes us to the small, isolated community of Crockett Island for this 7-part series. Riley Flynn is a man who returns to the island as he grapples with a tragic accident. Father Paul is the new priest he meets, and turns to, for help. When miracles start to happen and religious fervor begins to rise, what is really happening amongst the community and what horrors await? Read more.
No One Gets Out Alive, September 29th
We love the trailer for this one, and the movie looks great. A young woman newly arrived in the country in search of a better life decides to rent a room in a boarding house. The owner describes the house as “kind of weird” and that quickly proves true. The woman finds herself in a nightmare, but the only question is, can she escape? Read more.
