Hello Awaken Fans,
One Night Only! Love Bites @ Awaken is Tomorrow Night!
Our lovely Cupid is rumored to be making an appearance, and we might even be lucky enough to have Fetters the Clown visit again!
This will be our 3rd annual Valentine’s themed event, and we hope it’s just as fun as the previous two. What better way to break up a dreary Michigan February than with an exciting trip through Awaken?
So, please join us for a night of lost loves, tragic endings, and dark scary secrets! You don’t need a date for this Valentine event, but we strongly recommend that you don’t come alone. You and your group will be provided one flashlight as Awaken turns down the lights to pure black*.
Yes, you heard right...one flashlight to travel into the depths of our horror-filled haunt. This means the corners will be darker, the shadows deeper and the fun and scares even scarier. Your imagination will run wild for this fun, exciting and terror filled Valentine’s Day event!
This is a super fun and exciting night of fright and fun that you and your friends won't soon forget!
*For the fact checkers, there will technically be a few areas that will have some light, like our 3D maze and laser swamp.Â
Line Management for the Michigan Cold
Covid restrictions will still apply for Awaken and our heated lobby area. But, even with restrictions, there’s room for a good number of guests to enter and maintain social distancing.
In addition, we are implementing pagers for the first time. This means that if the line starts to back up outside our lobby, guests will be issued pagers so they can wait in the warmth of their cars.
Temperatures this week are expected to hover around 0 degrees. So, dress warmly, but rest assured, the Awaken Love Bites event will go on. We can’t wait to scare you!

Covid Starting to Get Behind Us? Upcoming Halloween Conventions
With vaccinations ramping up, numbers dropping and time passing, it’s beginning to feel that Covid may finally be behind us soon. Let’s all hope so! With that said, some horror related conventions are moving ahead with their 2021 plans. If you’re comfortable heading out in public again, you may want to check these out:
Tampa Bay Screams
Horror celebrities and the Grindhouse Video Film Festival highlight the Tampa Bay Screams Horror Convention. Tampa Bay Screams runs March 19-20th in Tampa, Florida. Read more.
Transworld Halloween and Attractions Show
One of our favorite conventions to attend is Transworld! There’s always a ton of stuff of cool stuff to see here if you like horror. Masks, new displays, animatronics and other fun items abound. They even have Christmas and escape room sections. The 2021 show is scheduled for May 6-9th in St. Louis, Missouri. Read more.
Midwest Haunters Convention
As we roll into the summer, the Midwest Haunters Convention kicks off. Scheduled for June 4-6th in Rosemont, Illinois, this midwest based conference is great for haunters, actors, artists and other horror aficionados of any flavor. Open to the public, it features a haunted house, vendors’ displays, educational seminars and other cool stuff. Read more.
